I was thinking...
Instead of getting an all new mirror (which I don't need)... I might be able to buy a homelink module from eBay, or even some sun visors with the module in it and save some cash.
I might be able to put it in the visor I have or even in the center console somewhere.
Anyone done this? |

| Get a "keychain" garage door opener from home depot, take it apart and insert the guts into the sunvisor. |

| Go to a junkyard and get the mirror! A lot less trouble, and it looks like it belongs there... |

It's just as easy to clip the damn thing to visor.
I do not like the mirror-mounted Homelink controls. If you are not careful hitting the button(s) you can change the position of the mirror. A better design would have been to mount the button(s) on the dash or overhead console. Nissan took the easy and cheap way out by using an off-the-shelf, universal rear-view mirror. Shame on them for putting a generic mirror in the sculpted MO.

| I think I will tear one out of a visor at a junk yard if I can find one. |

| Just keep it on your key chain. It quicker, you can take it with you when you get the next car finally it's cheaper and much easier.. |

I hate carrying around stuff... and it would be nice to have it in the visor, easy access and will look like it belongs there.
When I get around to it I'll post pics. |

| Hacking a homelink - where is the hacking? All what I see are different suggestions that provide nice, elegant solutions for people who do not have homelink built in to the mirror...;) |

Our thoughts about what "looks good" is likely very different then... |

Hey, I didn't say it would look good.
I just said it would look quick, easy, and CHEAP! |
