brake light replacement - how? - Click HERE for Original Thread
Russ
okay...next question..my brakelight has gone out. I might have missed something obvious but haven't yet figured out how to get at it....any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Russ; To remove the rear tailights; open your rear hatch. On the tailight housing(inner sides on both sides); there is a black trim strip that runs the length of the housing. They have to be carefully removed. That part is called the "Rear combination lamp finisher". After doing so, it will then expose the two bolts that hold the rear tailight in place. Remove the two bolts and your good to go. Good luck.

Thanks BikerJohn! I will give that a go!!

You're welcome Russ. I wish I knew how to post the page from a PDF file onto this site. Anyone know??

Sure just select attach file at the bottom of the "your reply" box. I've attached the page you might be looking for.

That's the page Gonzo; thanks. The file that I have is on a CD and I don't know how to attach just one page from that while it's open. Do I have to download the content of the CD onto my computer and do it that way? I realize we're getting off topic here.....

Russ-

What year is your MO? The reason I ask is because there is a huge price difference between a 2003-2005 brake light bulb and a 2006+ LED assembly.

Hey njjoe - it is a 2004 - I'm assuming its just the bulb which is burned out - which was about $6 - I haven't gotten a chance to take the housing off to replace it - are you saying the whole unit could be haywire?

No, no, no, definitely not.

In 2006 the MO changed over to all LED tail-lights. So if you had a 2006 (or 2007) MO a non-working tail-light could possibly be a relatively expensive repair. You are in luck however, 2004's use relatively inexpensive incandescent bulbs.

Sorry for the scare.

Thanks to everyone on this website who contributed to my questions - and very quickly I might add. was able to replace my brake light and cabin filter relatively quickly :) and didn't even break anything in the process. Thanks everyone!
