Japanese OEM Nav in New Zealand - Click HERE for Original Thread
Graeme
Anyone help me here? Have just taken delivery of an 06 Murano ex Japan. This is a Japanese domestic model with all the toys including the full OEM nav. I'm here in New Zealand and there is no GPS mapping available yet for Nissan so we have to fit after market Garmin/Navman etc. Not too interested in the navn anyway but the screen is helpful for the reversing camera etc.

My question is... how do I get rid of the Japanese language script on screen and replace it with English. I understand that the nav will never work until there is mapping software available but would like a creen I can read for the other stuff.
Is there a software update to the screen that I can make and if so how do I go about it.

Would purchasing the US NAV DVD would that at least give me English language script on screen even if the GPS signal couldn't map it to the US data?

Your help appreciated.

Cheers from New Zealand

Graeme-

Welcome to the forum.

Call the Nissan Navigation System Helpdesk. Their number is 888-661-9995. If you are unable to use the 888-number you can access the helpdesk via the Internet. Here's the link to the Nissan Helpdesk Contact Form - Click Here.

I hope this helps.

Thanks njjoe but am really not expecting anyone at the US Nissan helpdesk to be able to help with this situation. They probably will not even know where New Zealand is! lol. I'll try though and see if i am pleasantly surprised.

Graeme-

You might be surprised. The Nissan Nav Helpdesk is actually the Zenrin helpdesk.

Of course they will know where New Zealand is! That's like.......somewhere downunder, right?

So lets see....I live in the Northeast...so down, but not in the US........that would be Cuba! :D
