Navagation options for 2006 Murano - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hey guys. I have read through the different threads and am a little confused. Most of the threads regarding navigation are for models '05 and under. Here is the scenero:

I just bought a 2006 Murano S. It is my understanding from reading everything that this year model has a color screen.

The question is, what else does it need to convert to navigation? Can it be done?

I spent $2,500 on my aftermarket navigation system in my Lexus, but doent look like the Murano will support an aftermarket system.

What will it take to convert this system to run Navigation? Also, are there outputs on the screen to be able to hook up a DVD player in the glovebox and run the movies on the screen in the car? (yes, I know that is not exactly street legal while the car is in motion)

Any help would be phenominal. I am new to this model car and really would like to intergrate a NAV/DVD system into the existing screen.

Thanks guys.

It is not cost effective to convert a non-navi MO to a navi model using OEM parts. There is a plug and play converter (I don't recall its name though but several members have used it - just search the audio/vdeo thread) which you can use to feed video into the color screen. The source could be an afternarket GPS or a video player. Or you can do what I did, install a carputer....!
