| I tried to change my transfer case fluid last weekend. Who has some tricks on how to do this without undo pain and agony? I got the thread sealant and GL-5 SAE 80W-90 ready to go, however two problems prevented me from even starting the job. #1: Is the drain plug a 10mm hex key or 3/8"? I have to go buy one and would prefer to only make one trip. Usually whichever part I buy first is the wrong one and I end up making a return trip to exchange it. #2: Looks like the fill plug is a 12mm bolt. No room to get a socket wrench up there. Plus, not a lot of room to turn a box wrench and my 12mm wrenches are too short anyhow. Will an extra-long box wrench do the job? What's worked best for folks? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and tips! |

| I don't exactly remember, but be assured it is not 3/8". MO is all metric, so 10mm would be about right. It it tight up there, but if you hold your mouth right......... |
