I've just bought a used 2007 Murano - how do I verify the VDC is really there (the dealer tells me its there, but I'm curious where I would look to confirm)?
Thanks! |

Look for the "VDC OFF" switch which is located on the lower instrument panel just to the lower-left of the steering wheel.

| Hrm...not finding it. I did find the AWD on / off switch. The only "panel" I see to the left of the steering wheel is the one where I can adjust the headlight angle. |

Does this look familiar??

Not exactly. I don't have the VDC button/switch and the headlight adjustment rocker switch is on the right side of the panel and the left side is empty.
Grrr...it is looking like I failed to do my homework ahead of time on this one. |

Do you have anything in writing that supports your claim? A window sticker or list of features?
Was this a Nissan dealer?

Problem with dealers (well, one of many many many problems) is that they have NO CLUE about the actual features on the vehicles they sell.
I'm sure your dealer figured that VDC was simply a standard feature on ALL Muranos. When I was shopping around I talked to quite a few that argued with me about that point. I knew it wasn't, because they only way I could get VDC was to get the touring package, which I didn't want. They always seemed genuinely shocked when I proved it to them by looking it up in their own book. Either they were clueless, or put on a good act.
Go back and play innocent. Say something to the effect of "My Murano has VDC, right?" and if he says yes, then ask him to verify it. Then when he realizes that it doesn't, ask him for some money back equal to the cost of that option ($651 invoice on a new one) |

Excellent idea! The dealer misrepresented the product he was selling. I would make a stink about it and see if you can get something from them. I would suggest free oil changes for life, or 50%-off a new set of tires in three years, etc.
Good luck.
