flowmaster exhaust and jwt cone filter - Click HERE for Original Thread
nissanlove
alright.... well i had some time after work the other day and i made a few drive by videos of the murano with the jwt intake before we put in the flowmaster muffler on wednesday. enjoy and please do comment. these first two are with the jwt cone filter and stock exhaust just to re-emphasize.

video 1 don't mind my brothers excited giggling or the background clicking noise(not the MO) :D

video 2

Hey, it sounded great. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like now...
nissanlove
i'll try and post new videos thursday night :)
nissanlove
WOW!!!! i don't know why i didn't do this right off the bat!! holy what a sound. there is absolutely no drone with the stock resonator in place and the tone is barely audible inside the cabin. you can hear it only during light acceleration. i'll post some comparison videos tonight.

So sexyyyyyy :o

alright here is a little clip for now just revving...

revving flowmaster muffler

well i'm near vancouver bc right now and let me tell you, the exhaust sound is FRACKEN AWESOME!!! total cost came to 380 dollars for parts and labour(including new exhasut tips) i can't wait to get back and make some drive by clips. on start up the mo has this amazing almost V8 type rumble, and then while cruising it has a deeper than FX type tone. SOOO WICKED. i'm getting looks all over.

i just got flowmaster muffler 2day sounds just like an fx with a lil more low end from outside ,has anyone took out the cat?? im afraid to have the check engine light come up from o2 sensors
nissanlove
i don't think anyone has taken out the cat but they have removed the low hanging center resoator which creats a louder, more raspy sound. the fx sound(had a chance to compare the mo with flowmaster and fx35 exhaust side by side over my vacation) is more raspy and i actually find it a bit annoying and abnoxious now. the murano with flowmaster is smooth and powerful sounding, even when in regular cvt(motorboat sound) mode.

lol thanks , the exaust guy just said come backif its not loud enough and i couldnt decide

How does it idle? Is it as quiet as the FX? I am looking for something that doesnt have huge noise or next to nothing while on idle and when giving it gas, I want it to sound similar to an FX,G35 coupe or 350Z.
nissanlove
from inside the cabin, there is a slight bit more noise at idle and under moderate acceleration. but you can sure hear the difference from the outside. i have come to the conclusion that it sounds very similar to the new infiniti g37 coupe but stays deeper while the g mellows out after warm up. it almost has a small v8ish type tone with some resonance. hear are some videos again.

When you say a bit of noise...is it subtle? Like hardly noticable? I have a 1 year old daughter and 4 year old son...they tend to fall asleep in the Mo, so when I say subtle or you say a bit of noise, will it wake them up?

Thanks

How's the performance? Do you notice any increase in power? Also has there been any change in gas mileage? Would be interested to know if letting the engine breathe a bit more helps out with the MPG.
nissanlove
fastNugly- it is a very subtle increase in noise inside the cabin. i'll try and make a video asap with the camera in the trunk so that you can see how quiet it is.

badbietz- i haven't noticed any noticeable gain in power after this mod. it was more of an asthetic/sound mod anyways. i wouldn't be surprised if there is a bit of a loss in power because the flowmaster muffler on it own weighs more than the stock muffler, tips, and pipeing from the rear suspension. fuel mileage is unchanged as well although it does go down once in a while when i romp on it to hear the noise:)

Would love to hear it and the camera doesnt have to be in the trunk as no one really sits there. Just keep it with you in the front.

thanks

i can barely even notice a sound diference , its a littlebit louder but if i dont tell anyone know one notices especially inside the car its still super quiet unles i roll all 4 down and give it a little push , but i only have the flowmaster muffler ,not a full straight pipe and or premuffler . I now want to get it all the way cat back because mine is still more quiet than an fx its got the sound down , its just way quiter . I thought it would be safer to do just the muffler at first , dont want to piss off the wife.

Great. I would like the FX sound but dont care for the loudness.... I would still like the video clip from nissanlove, but looks like I will be getting this installed.
