| What's involved in making the move to a full size spare on my 2006 Murano SL AWD? Can it be done without much hassle? |

Do a search. Full size will fit in the wheel well, but for the US models you'll need to remove the little storage tray and the cover will be pushed up an inch or so.
Canadian MOs already have a full size tire. |

Check with ekaxel. I seem to remember that he replaced his temporary spare with a full-size OEM tire/wheel.
I hate the temporary spare and believe all cars (except Vettes, Vipers, and super-cars) should come equipped with a full-sized spare. On the plus side, maybe it was better for MO owners to have the temporary spare since the Goodyear OEM tires were once so hard to come by, I can only image how worse it could have been if an additional xx% of the production was allocated to US spares.

| Hopefully I will never need to need to use my spare. If I do... it's a spare and will get me to where I need to be and then I can have my tire fixed\replaced. What's the big deal? |

If I get a flat late at night while driving on a rain-soaked highway I would much rather put on a full-size, full-use spare than have to rely on a temporary "donut".

I had a flat (see my "Good news, I had a flat" thread).
I used the donut. Worked fine, lightweight & so much easier to change.
From pullover to back on the road in under 9 minutes. I'll betcha I could change it now in less than 7 (learning curve and all).
I wouldn't mind a full size spare, but I don't think I would go out of my way to get one.

| The full size spare tire saved me $215 CDN when it came to get new rubber. I put one of the worn OEM's into the trunk and pulled out the brand new spare and only had to buy three:D |

Exactly. I used to drive across the state at night all the time. Had a blowout once, and thankfully had a full-size spare. Middle of nowhere, and didn't want to dive 150 miles home at 40mph.
Ironically, it was only about a month earlier that I had replaced the donut with a full-size spare. Was VERY happy I did. |

Gee, I wonder where corin got that full size spare???
I have an extra tire if you can score a cheap wheel..... |

Ha! Actually, that was in my old civic hatchback. The MO spare I got from you is sitting in my garage. Used for long-distance trips where I could really be screwed with a flat tire, but I normally use the donut around town since it's not as awkward in the wheel well. |
