Dam... I got to work this morning and realized I don't have my keys in my pocket. Has anyone evercalled a tow service to 'jimmy' the locks open on the Murano? I called Triple A, and they will be here with in the hour. I pray they don't damage my baby.

Anyone with any experience with this issue??

Not on Murano.

Happened to me twice in the distant past. Called taxi. Went home and picked the keys. More expensive (15 miles ride) but elegant solution....

G-

No, not me. But I would appreciate if you could keep a close eye on the locksmith to see how easy/difficult it is to "jimmy" your MO. It will be helpful advice for the rest of us. Let us know how effective the alarm is.

Be thankful you didn't lock the keys in the car with TheGymKiddee still in his carseat.

The tow service just left... this is how he did it.

He took a shimmy and put it between the door by the top part of the window and the body. He then slid it down and put a 2nd shimmy in and slid it in leavign about 6" between the two. So the door is wedged open a little bit. He then put a little air bag (looks like something a doctor would check your blood pressure with) between the two shimmys inbetween the door and the body. Pulled the shimmys out and pumpped the bag up so the door was forced open a little with a big crack. He then pushed a hard thick wire in the crack and pushed the unlock button with the tip of it.

He did it in less then a minute. My alarm went off, which I didn't even know i had an alarm. The horn beeped and lights flashed for about 30 to 45 seconds, then shut off on it's own.

No damage... whew

I had a thin metal key cut at Walmart to match the door key and keep it in my wallet. This key won't start the car, but at least it lets me in the car.

Much cheaper than a locksmith.

Hope this helps.

Locksmith was free... we'll I tipped him $5.00. With Triple A, which I borrowed from someone it didn't cost anything. BUT... you are smart and I will be stealing that idea. Thank you !!

I am confused. How did you lock the MO without having the key or the fob?

I'm glad you can use it. I got the idea when my wife kept locking her keys inside her car - not the MO. I looked into getting a duplicate transmitter key, but Ford wanted big $$ and all I intended on using it for was to gain access to the other transmitter key locked inside the vehicle. Then the light bulb went on ...

Both times I was on the golf course.

The first time I was at an outing at a country club. I have an extra keyfob in my golf bag. I usually change my shoes in the parking lot, this time I used the locker room as this was a dress for dinner event. After the round, we dropped the golf bags back at the cars. As soon as i slammed the hatch, I thought "uh, oh", I was hoping my real keys were in my locker..... "Hello, Triple A".

For the AAA guy, it was his first ever Murano. His cheat book told him to go in through the back window.

The next time wasn't *really* my fault  .... I had reprogrammed the remotes and forgot to reprogram the one attached to the golf bag. I called AAA from the 17th tee, they had arrived before we got to the 18th green. I had to race up the hole to meet him...in the freaking rain.

Now I have a keyblank in one of those hide a key deals. I also have the red key hidden in the car.

Can't wait for lockout #3! I'm ready!

gymkid, Were your keys in the car? My intelligent key won't let me lock the doors if the key's in the car. I can lock them with the lock button on the inside of the door, but the locks open and the intelli-beep beeps to remind you as soon as you close the door.
