First off hello. I've been lurking for a while. I got a MO a couple months ago and love it.
My question is about the noise when you start and shut the engine off. It sounds like an electric motor. The noise originates from underneath the vehicle and towards the front. Thanks for your help. |

Its the sound of the fuel injectors, and its normal. I wouldn't worry about it. |

Fuel injectors sound more like a tap or click, definitely not like an electric motor. My guess would be the electric throttle control actuator or electric motor mounts. Most likely the former.

| I dunno, on both my Maxima and Murano, I hear an electric motor noise for a second or two when I shut off the engine (sounds like a solenoid) which I always attributed to the fuel injectors (the Maxima does not have electronic motor mounts or electronic throttle body). |

| When you turn the key on, that's the fuel pump. When you shut it off, it could be the rad fan spinning down. |

Not if he is hearing it from the front of the car.

| Actually some noise can come from the front of the car when first turning the key because the fuel rail sometimes makes a noise when pressurizing (at least it did that on my Maxima - the MO has better sound insulation so I barely hear a noise). |
