Hudson Nissan Jersey City, NJ
Bought my MO from them through carsdirect, everything with the delivery was fine. Dealer informs me that it will take 2 weeks to get plates (I live in NY) and I have a 20 day temp reg on car.
18 days later no plates and dealer doesn't have a clue.
I now have to rent a car so I can go on my vacation while my $36,000 '07 MO sits in my garage because I have no plates or reg. Will see the dealer when I return from vac. and they better have my plates or the paperwork for me to get them myself plus a refund check for the fees they charge to do this "work" for you.
Will update next week.Hudson Nissan Jersey City, |

Smee-
Usually NJ dealers can easily get new plates in a week. However, in your case they are dealing with an out-of-state (NY) motor vehicle agency so it takes longer. Twenty days should have been more than enough time, but I am not surprised. This is the level of customer service we have all come to expect from Nissan dealers.
Did you at least have the opportunity to rent a MO for your vacation? Enterprise has MOs in their fleet.

| Different state but similar situation as yours - bought my car in California and plates did not arrive in a month - turned out the DMV got my address wrong. Well I moved out to Illinois and basically drove six months without plates, and kept on getting temporary CA registrations to keep me going (for some reason it was easy for them to issue me temp reg but not a plate!). I finally gave up and registered the vehicle in Illinois and a few months later, my CA plate arrived. Gotta love government efficiency. |

| Perhaps the dealer could put dealer plates on your car. |

Perhaps the dealer should get off his lazy @ss, send one of his minions through the Holland tunnel into New York and get the plates from the NY DMV. He was paid a fee to get the plates and registration, so he should do the job he was paid to do.
The Sales Manager already cashed the check. He doesn't care that you can't legally drive the car.

Spoke to the dealer today and supposedly my plates will arrive on Tues. I had to give him the address where I will be vacationing. We'll see.
Hopefully I'll be driving home with my plates as a momento of my vacation.
Well the plates arrived just as the dealer said they would. I just have to get the MO inspected. I finally feel like this vehicle is mine, now that I have a reg. with my name on it and real plates. |
