o6murano;
Hey; that looks great! Very unique look to your MO. Perhaps you can post some more photos/description of how it was done;) |

o6murano-
Looks good from what I can see. Give us a better photo that shows the whole front end.

| Obviously others have figured it out, but I have to ask - what are we looking at? The pic is kind of dark to make anything out... |

| I'm gonna guess he was referring to the grille. But you know, thats just a guess. :D |

I'm gonna guess that it's the black lights :o
but tonight I'll post more when I get home, the bumpers a lil messed up but another one is coming this week...had a lil problem with a fire hydrantt :( |
|
|
| BikerJohn |
| Oops; my bad. I thought it was the grill:crazyeye: |
|
|
| Eric L. |
| I thought it was just dark because of the lighting. Tinted headlight covers look cool, but I don't like it when they reduce the light output (yeah I know the HID's are bright, but I like 100% brightness). |
|
|
| njjoe |
Tinted headlights? I thought you were calling attention to the grille. I love the grille but absolutely hate the tinted headlights. The grille brings attention to an already sharp-looking front-end. The tint diminishes the light output and effective illumination of the all-important headlights. You are trading safety for looks. That's not a "bright" move.

You're all wrong!! He painted the chrome trim under the headlight lens to match the black paint of his truck.
There is a pic of a Jap MO on here somewhere which is sunlit copper and has the headlights painted to match.
looks good, just wanna see it in the light! |

Well those chrome pieces are part of the reflector, so it still diminishes light output, if only by a little. |

We're not all wrong; just misinformed.
Also when you're referring to another post; please at least take the time to spell out Japanese instead of a racial slant. |

the housing is painted black, not tinted...i tried..it was too hard so i ripped apart the front end and got the lights out..etc..
my bumper is effed up another ones coming this week sometime |
|
|
| o6murano |
| & Just to clear everything up and you notice so it's not asked...the housing is painted black. It's not tinted, I was refering to the orange JP murano because he has the housing painted too, thats why I asked "who else has this done???" because I know no one really has it...My lights not effected by this and theres still the two chrome strips under the lights to still reflect, kthx |

o6murano-
In that case, I like it!!
I have seen that done on one of the cars posted here in the gallery. I, too, thought it looked good and wondered why no one else had done it.

It would probably be easier to see in the pics if you took them in sunlight instead of shadows. I get the basics of what we're looking at, but it's hard to see any detail in the shadows.
IMHO :D |

I'll get more pics today...but whats done is what you are looking at, you're just looking at the housing blacked out as oppose to it being chrome
and thanks njjoe, I think the only reason people dont have it done is because of all the work that went into it, if I knew that it would take about 7 hours to complete I dont know if I would have still did it |

Eric,
I don't think that the chrome part of the HID housing has any effect on the light output. In a halogen setup - yes, but the HID is a projector that does not reflect light from the outer portion of the housing.
06murano,
It is hard to see your pic, but I really like that look. The copper one that was mentioned really stands out.
I also, love the blacked out grill. I was considering that mesh grill if and when my grill starts to look haggard. I like the black insert. Why did you paint it? Was it just for looks? Any problems with paint chipping?

Just for looks, I love BLACKED out cars so I figured why not have one...it's not meant to really stand out just blend in and look nicer...the copper MO..yes is very noticible

Great mod but it's gonna be an expensive one if you have to buy another bumper.
You should of took out the amber reflector while you had the housing open or at least tinted it.
Great work though! |
|
|
| o6murano |
| I got the bumper for 200 and I didn't mess it up doing the mod I messed it up with a fire hydrant...:( |

Hey 06Murano it sounds like you have done exactly what I want to do. The pictures have been deleted from this thread however. Do you have any more you could post?
I have a platinum 07 Murano and I want to paint the inside of my xenon headlights to match the color of the car ....I was also thinking of matching the grill to the body color as well.
Does anyone have the grill matched on a platinum murano?
I think with the headlights and the grill matched it will look stunning  |
|

| gnotti211 |
| Yeah I am also looking to paint the headlight housings, so if anyone could post pictures/instructions it would be greatly appreciated! |
