A very neat resource! I'm making this a sticky, then people can post questions to this thread.

Good luck on the new job. Hope the gang doesn't wear you out with questions like this: Did ya ever hear of?--------------fill in the blank with every possible noise that a car can make.

Hope you get a super deal on your next Nissan!

If I were you I might want to reconsider having this thread made a "sticky". You might be inundated with requests for information and will suffer the wrath of disgruntled owners who receive less-than-satisfactory dealer service.

Congrats and good luck!

Can you get those copper crush washers for cheaper than the $1.58 + tax I pay at Wayzata Nissan?

Just kidding

Nissanlove,

First off congratulations. I hope you have a great career with Nissan.

Maybe you could help us understand how to properly change the CVT fluid. There is a nice writeup in the maintenance section of the forums on how to do this. It seems straightforward enough: drain and refill.

Is that what is done at the dealership or is there more to it?

Thanks again.

Nissanlove,

Hope the offer still stands.... I have a Murano and also an Infiniti I-35 (2003). Both share the 3.5L V6. Since both are in warranty I have been going to the local Infiniti dealer for oil changes. They are reasonable and do a pretty nice car wash / clean along with it. I have been providing my own oil (M1 synthetic), most recently in the 5qt jugs. On both cars I noticed they seem overfilled with oil when I get them back and I don't get any oil back. I'm guessing they are putting the whole 5 qts in. Looking in the Infiniti manual it states something like 4 1/4 quarts on refill with a filter. So the questions are:

- is the 4 1/4 level correct ( I would expect so)
- any issue with overfilling by 3/4 qt?

It may be time for me to go back to doing my own o/c... 8-(

Chuck
