| I picked up an '04 SE 2 weeks ago. 25,000 miles and still under warranty (put in service in '05). Love the vehicle, loaded, loaded, loaded! The only thing I am having a problem with is changing the state to put in destinations. When I select the State, it comes up "no data". I called zenrin and they said it was a dealer issue (bad programming?). Version 6.4. Anyone have insight to this issue? |

I assume we're talking about navigation? :)
The nav is set to certain regions at a time, so you might have to change the reason, if you didn't already know that. The couple times I've had to change the region to include the state I needed, I've struggled to find it. I don't have the MO here with me at work to check right now (saving miles on the MO and gas money by car pooling with the wife in her Vibe!).
If no one has posted by then, I'll try to remember to check when I get home. It seems like it's very simple, but I can't picture the screen off the top of my head. I know it's more difficult on the Nav in our Vibe, which is why I get confused in the MO. It seems like you just move the cursor above the address text box and select it to change, or something like that?
Or is that what you've already tried? Based on your description, I'm not sure specifically what you tried... |

| can't find the region screen to switch it. It just seems to be stuck on California and when you try to change it, it comes up "no data". |

I could be misunderstanding, but try this:
1. push the DEST button
2. select 'Street Address' (might work with other options - that's the one I tried)
3. it defaults to the 'House No.' field - move up with the joystick until the Region is highlighted
4. select
5. change the region to whatever applies to your situation
Is that what you're talking about? |

Ok...
dest to street address to house number field? Street field is next. I tried scrolling up from there, no region field there. Hate bringing it to the dealer but ...
thanks for the try

Maybe our software is different with the year differences. You should have gotten an '06. ;)
Here are my screens (pardon the bad phone pic quality):

nissanlyfer-
The MO is pretty damn smart. Maybe it just does not want to leave Arizona. Did you consider that? I mean if you lived in North Dakota or Minnesota your MO would probably change the default the AZ in the hope that you would drive it there.

njjoe,
I left toms river nj 2 months ago. I don't want to leave az either, but the big problem is the nav doesn't want to leave california. |

It's a small world. I used to live in Dover Township but now live in the "new" Toms River. :p (Actually, like everyone else, I always referred to it as Toms River.) I live in the Silverton section, across the water from Brick. Were we neighbors?

Has anyone with a factory NAV driven through the different regions?
If so, do you have to manually change regions?
How would you plot a coast to coast trip? |

| I was in the Georgetown section (Indian Hill) for 15 years. Drove through Silveton every day to the GSP. Still haven't found where to manually change the regions. No information in the manual to speak of. |

My in-laws live in Wisconsin, which happens to be a different region. As you're driving the map view works fine across regions. Changing the region is only needed for the search functions as far as I can tell. But I admit the one trip we've taken with the MO across regions, we drove places we knew, so I wasn't using much nav functionality. |

Take that back! :p
I've lived in IN, IA and MN my entire life, and I personally don't care if I ever go to AZ, so there! ;) |
