So where do you go when you live in a vacation destination?
Somewhere else.
In my case, I live in Ft Myers, FL and it gets hotter than the hubs of hell down here in the summer and it rains every day which allows the humidity to fluctuate between 99 and 100% all of the time.
So, on July 28, we took off for my wife's old stomping grounds, Northeast Pennsylvania.
We rented a cabin in the Endless Mountains adjacent to Riickets Glen state park.
No TV reception. None.
No telephone.
No telephone line.
So, no internet.
No heat. So 48 degree night time temps were COLD for us Floridians!
But it was beautiful!
After almost a month of watching the birds, deer, bear, wild turkeys, bunnies, chipmonks, squirrels, and woodchucks, we went down to Asbury Park, NJ for a few days.
Or at least the place where Asbury Park used to be.
People should go, view the carnage, read the political history of the town, and never let those people get in charge of anything.
In the 50s it was a bustling, successful town.
The town now looks like what I would imagine Baghdad to be.
And then on home.
4,349 miles.
Interstate speeds were all +5 MPH.
Not a single problem.
23.1 MPG for the entire trip.
