I have run across a few of these and it could be the answer to Leather, and other desired accessories without getting a sun roof.
On e-bay is a "S" with leather, chrome wheels, magic pedals, AWD, and other accessories. A bonus is no roof rails to make air noise, or sun roof.
I had a '72 LTD w/sun roof and it never worked. In'89 I test drove a SHO w/ sunroof. The salesman went along and I said I didn't want a s/r, that they never worked. He laughed, and after the car cooled off (It was 100+ tht day), the s/r would not close.
As we entered the service area upon returning the salesman said "The s/r won't close and the service agent said "Imagine that!" Enough said. |

Obviously everyone has their own preferences. My MO is my 2nd straight car with a sunroof, and I'm not sure I'll ever buy a car without one. I've never had any sunroof issues. I don't happen to like to look mo MO's without roof fails, but again, to each their own.
No offense, but technology has come a ways in the last 18 years since your last sunroof complaint. :D |

| Our 2007 MO has both sunroof and rails and there is no wind noise whatsoever in the car. In fact this was one of the deciding factors for choosing a MO was how quiet it was at 90mph on the highway. We had a rental with sunroof and satnav for 5 weeks while on holiday in the USA and drove it all over Yellowstone, Idaho and Montana. |
