Dealership buyback program - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi,

In the past few weeks, I have received a couple of flyers from 3 different Nissan dealership saying that they would pay certain amount for my Murano in certain price. The offer price is not really low. Did anyone receive the same flyer i got, and what is the reason we got that? The number one concern I have is, does our Murano have any hidden problem that the dealership doesn't want to tell us? What do you think? Thanks

Don't sweat it, it is just a gimmick to get you to visit the dealer so he can try to sell you a new car. I get the same flyer from my dealer about twice a year.

Agree with njjoe. They're just trying to get you in the door to look at new cars. Don't think that you would actually get the price for your vehicle that they list. They'll do an "evaluation" of it, and then turn around with a lower price. OR, they will try to sell you a new car and full price and not be willing to deal since "they're giving you such a great price on your trade-in"

I hate dealers.

Good to know that there is no defects to my Murano. I love the car so much that i wouldn't want to give it back or to sell it. Thanks a lot for your help.

Dealer buyback: a euphemism for "trade-in".

Last time I visited my dealer when I got the "buy back" flyer (I only went because they were giving away free Vegas trips which turned out to be a gimmick on its own) they valued my MO unreasonably so low that I vowed never to return......:4:

Also known as a variation of "bait and switch."

They promise you a higher price, and as others have said, you get there and they "evaluate" your vehicle and decide it's worth far less. By then, though, you're at the dealership so that's 50% of the battle for them.

I hate car dealers. :3:
