I was the victim of a bash and dash last weekend at the San Jose Giants game.
I left my GPS unit on the winshield (i know, i know....literally, the one time I forgot!).
Anyway, my window was serviced by Safelite and my wife was home while the technician worked. There is still some glass deep inside the door that the service rep said would eventually fall through the three small drain holes in the door. Apparently, his vacuum couldn't get that glass out?? Is this true?
Anybody have any tips for getting the glass out?
Thanks!
....thankfully the gps unit was cheapo i got from woot.com for $140. i hated that thing. |

bdubs90-
Have you looked at the size of the drain holes at the bottom of the door? There is no way the pieces of glass are going to drop through.
The Safetlite guys did a half-assed job. Call Safetlite and/or your insurance company and have them rectify the situation. They will probably have to remove the door panel to remove the glass pieces.

| I would have to agree with njjoe. Glass in the door should have been shop-vac'ed while they had the panel off. There's no way it's going to find it's way out. They'll sit there and rattle you crazy with every shut and bump. I would talk to the maneger of that store and have them re-do it. |

Sorry for your loss, but isn't that against the law in California? |

| Stealing it or puting it on the windshield? :2: |

| Both! It is against the law in California (and Minnesota) to have ANYTHING attached to your windshield. |

ouch! that's why I'm stalling putting anything in my car. I'm really bad at forgetting stuff like that.
stinks to live in Cali. No more cell phones for teens, i hear? and I guess everyone will have to be hands free with cells pretty soon? |

Don't and won't live in CA but you can solve those two problems by one, using a 'beanbag' or rubber cradle dash(just sits on the dash) mount to hold a BlueTooth compatible GPS(I use a Garmin Nuvi 660) and have a BT cell phone with you.
Now nothing is attached to the dash and with BT technology(GPS/cell phone), you have a hand's-free way of making calls. I just got a Motorola W385 cell and it's a joy to use hand's-free with my Garmin which had both a microphone and a speaker which is used instead of the phone's. No one has mentioned any fall-off in call quality.
