It is what it is. Small car ride, noisy by comparisom, and front end side styling reminds me of an Aztec. The front end would be ok IF the overall width would have been as wide as it should have.

I guess there was a width maximum and to get there they took it to Darlington and slid it down the wall. There is an obvious flattening of the fenders to keep within the total width.

The paddle shifters are fuctional with the CVT. I did not understand before I drove it. The wife drove it first and said "When you let off the gas it pulls down," I looked over at the tach and we were taching 4k at 35. I said something's wrong here. I slapped the shifter up and it jumped up a....... a rubber. I guess that's what you say instead of gear?

Should be a good seller, but not to anyone considering a mo. There is 10k difference.

Thanks.

Different class of course but good to know.

A fully loaded Rogue inches up into the 30 grand territory, making it a tough sell against a base model Murano, I think.

I don't quite get the Rogue...I guess only time will tell if they are selling well...

The transmission behavior you describe sounds like using the paddles toggles the transmission into a sport mode.

Hope to drive one of these soon, to see how it compares to the RAV4 and CR-V. Sportier handling?

I've got pricing for the Rogue in my database, if anyone's interested in detailed price comparisons.

When I was shopping for my first car, I tried to compare the fully loaded 2007 CR-V to the middle range 07 Murano. Even with the touchscreen and GPS on the CR-V, Murano was clearly the better vehicle for comfort and power.

I figured the Rouge was going to fill the lower range crossover SUV market for Nissan to compete with the new CR-Vs. The 2007 CR-Vs are pretty and well equipped, but lack the power I wanted to climb up I-70 to the ski resorts. What's the HP on Rouge?

The Rogue has a 170hp 2.5L I4, not much more powerful than the Civic's 166hp 2.4L I4.

Yep, similar power output to the CR-V. Though the CVT might help some in the Rogue.

I just bought a Rogue this Monday after driving it 3 times before pulling the trigger. I own a 2005 Murano and needed a 2'nd car and I must tell you I am most impressed with the Rogue. It is more like a Baby Murano and really fun to drive with many features I wish my MO had. Most notably the Blue Tooth technology and the paddle shifters. My MO is the SL AWD and you have to go to the SE package to get the available shifting option on the CVT. I hope the next generation Murano incorporates the paddle shifters which really make the Rogue fun to drive. Obviously the Rogue isn't as powerful as the Murano but still it is surprisingly nimble. Drive one and i think you will come away impressed.
