Hi,
I am looking to buy an used 2006 or 2007 Nissan Murano and the only cars that meet our criteria (Burgundy exterior with black cloth interior) are at the S trim level. But we badly need a rear camera as this will be our first "big" car.
I am hoping it will be possible to retrofit a the OEM camera in a S. Will dealers do this? How much will it cost? Anyone has any experience doing this?
Thanks in advance! I am looking forward to driving a Murano soon... |

Welcome to the forum.
There is no substitute for turning your head and looking behind you as you put the car in reverse and begin to back-up. The cam is nice but definitely not a necessity.
I am sure a dealer would love to install the OEM back-up camera in your MO, but most likely it would be prohibitively expensive. A better option would be to install an aftermarket camera.
Are you really dead-set on those color choices? If so, have you tried to order an SL with those colors? If not, then get an SL or SE in a different color.

| Don't cheap out and get the S :x (sorry to S owners) but you'll just hate yourself afterwards :) |

Can somebody with service manual please verify that there is already harness in the lift gate where the camera is normally mounted on higher models? I do have 2007 S and I'd like to do center display integration via PAC adapters. Here is my potential setup:
1) VCI-NIS/AV from PAC Audio to make my screen accept AV inputs
2) Garmin GVN 53 GPS module with GXM 30 XM Link radio/traffic antenna
3) Any Cinch compatible backup camera - any suggestions?
4) I'm left with one AV input for TV tuner, DVD etc.
5) AAI-NIS2 to have audio input from VCI-NIS/AV routed into the radio.
Are there any other "factory installed hidden" connectors that I can use instead PAC adapters e.g. SAT radio, camera etc? |

The Service Manual won't help you on this one, I checked.
Your best bet is to open the panel to the rear hatch and take a peek.
