If you go HERE you will see how to get to both lamps.
You really don't have to have both wheels off, but it will be much friendlier to the hands and arms.
I bought my fogs off ebay for ~$60; they came with the complete harness, relay and all connectors--I felt like I got them for a song compared to $tealer pricing.
One harness is the Lamp harness going between the two lamps. The other is the switch/relay harness. They snap together; the lamp harness should be pulled by the single lamp connector from the driver’s side to the passenger side. The other end has the ground added separately which should end up on the driver’s side. There is plenty of slack here to combine the black wires later and ground to the battery.
An assistant will be needed for giving you slack on the harness while you run it and grabbing stuff for you that you may need like a light etc. My 14 yr old was a great help--thanks Blaze. :)
The black plastic fog light hole covers snap off with a slight push from the rear.
The right side is a bit of a bugger as the washer fluid tank is there. Go at it from OVER the top of the tank, you'll know what I mean when you reach your arm in there.
The tricky thing here is running the harness from one side to the other. If you lay under the front end in the middle on your back, you will notice a motor mount attaching to a front frame location. Run the harness between it and the fan assembly. A long pair of hemostats are welcome here, but it can be done with a long screw driver. Also, route the harness under and behind various hoses to keep it well away from the catalytic converter.
All harnesses came with slit, heat/friction protective sheathing. I only needed to add one connector, a U shaped connector for the constant + to the relay. I bolted the relay to the back of the air cleaner on the fender; a nut/bolt was there holding down the air box.
For electrical connections/wire harness modifications, I soldered and heat shrinked all modifications. My harness was for an Altima and had all of the factory connectors and a mile more wire than I needed so lot of wire was clipped out and soldered/heat shrinked.
For the relay (for the less than electrically inclined) you can break it down to two sides; one for the switched hot (white wire), and one for the switch itself (yellow wire). For the white wire connection, I soldered on a U shaped connector and fastened directly to the + battery tightening bolt as there is an inline fuse on this wire. Just loosen the bolt and slide into the gap it provides on the bolt head side (the nut side is recessed). I located the fuse block between the air filter box and resonator part of the CAI.
Take both black wires (one comes from the light harness) and combine them by a T solder joint and use the existing U shaped connector to connect directly to the battery’s negative side, again on the bolt head side.
The yellow wire is the trigger for the relay “switch” side. I found the hot side of one of the head lamps to be the red wire going to the lamp plug. I slit the insulator and stripped the wire and made another T junction with a solder joint. I recommend soldering all connections instead of using iffy clipped on connectors; they will last forever and never need looking at again. I taped the connection. It is in a perfect place as the harness is well away from any metal friction sources.
I took the plastic hole covers for the fogs and trimmed them down to be a finisher temporarily till I get the chrome ones—without it you will have 4 ugly holes for the trim rings to snap into surrounding your new fogs, Yuck! Pictures follow.
I hope this helps the folks who have a Murano or Altima that did not have the fogs and want them—to me it wasn’t a Mo without them. :)
My self dimming mirror comes in this week, my stainless side trim next week; this will complete my S's transition to an SL for $4k less than the $tealer wanted.
Enjoy! |

| What a timely post. My Altima hybrid comes without fogs and this will be a great help. Do to my bad right arm i can't do it myself. This will enable me to have something to supply to someone I can hire to do this for me. Greatly appreaciated. By the way where on ebay did you get yours so i can order the same thing. |

I got them HERE Don.
But he doesn't have any more right now.
I would STAY AWAY from folks that have groovy anything, only get the real deal offered with an OEM harness. There are lots of ads on ebay for Murano "driving" or "fog" lamps which are not OEM, be carefull! |

It came from a Yukon.
Fit the mount perfectly.
$22 from Ebay.

I am confused mgthe3...
In your sig you say you have an SL.
In another post you say you have an S and saved 3 grand.....
Which is it?
Looks to me like the sig is wrong.....
looks like you have an S........and are building a SL.

Are the fog lights same as this auction? And how did you search for the self dimming mirror? Was it used or new? I also have S and do miss auto lights, self dimming mirror, backup camera etc... |

Homer
Don't be confused Homer, I just changed the year in my sig.
I do have a Murano with an S on the right rear of the hatch.
It has 8 way seats, just like my 04 SL, an auto dimming mirror, just like my 04 SL, fog lamps just like my 04 SL and actually MORE amenities than my 04 SL came with. The sound system is far superior to the stock one I had in my 04 SL. I have a roof rack now with cross bars--not sure if I like the rack vs the slick top though.
There are only two things left to make it an SL; the chrome side accents and the SL on the rear hatch.
I guess I can change the SL in my sig, just for you.
:D |

Those ARE the exact ones pavouk, and the same seller I got mine from, it is a steal.
I just did a search on self dimming mirrors and looked at a few Yukons to decide if that was the one I wanted. $22 later I have one installed.
I didn't need a compass, pretty useless here in GA. The roads are like cow paths meandering NSEW. My buddy's wife from Nebraska whined about it when she first got here; roads there are literally N, S, E or W. She also wondered why folks were flashing her while she was in the far left lane going 65. She said "I'm already going the speed limit, what do they want".

MG-
Out of curiosity, since you had (and liked) an '04 SL, what possessed you to opt for an S this time around? (If it was to give you an excuse to spend hours upgrading it to SL specs, then I can fully appreciate that. :4: )

Ahh that's easy Joe.
I went to the dealer to get a grip on what they wanted from me, and, to test drive the 08 Altima 3.5.
I had driven the V6 rav 4, loved the accelleration, hated the fact that it was easy to over rev with an excited right foot--something you can't do with a CVT. Also, the cost was the same as the MO I ended up with.
Their selection had alllll sorts of SL's, but none with exactly what I wanted-and IMO, over priced.
They tried to slip me in a maroon S that had everything (I was going, what is the point, it should be an SL). Only problem was, it did not have lumbar adjustment, AND, the HUGE turn off--it had 2300 miles on it. A VP at the dealer had been driving it. I want no history on a new car--like how did he break it in? Unt uhhhhhh.
So my 14 yr old went off down the lot with full knowledge of MO's and what accessory was what.
He found my MO out of about 40 that were on the lot.
Less than $400 lease payment, everything I wanted except the driving lights and mirror, and possibly the side chrome accents-- I haven't made up my mind there. My 04 had manic rocker bars on it, and, it made it appear to have less ground clearance--which is one of the striking side visual aspects of the MO.
The adj lumbar and the fact I could add what was missing easily, sold me on it.
I have spent somewhere around 2 hours total adding the fogs and the mirror, so that was not a big deal--and less than $100.
I've almost spent more time talking about it and posting my pictures of the details than I did doing it.
Kris's post saved me time and misery.
Other's posts about adding stuff that splices into power at the map lights also saved me time.
I've modded all of the vehicles I've owned, nothing comes perfect from the factory to my taste. Ever add leafs to a suburban? --THAT takes some time.
My 04 sold in less than 24 hours, it was pristine, not one ding or scratch, 40k miles on the clock for an almost 4 year old, most of them freeway miles.
On another note, this MO has more of a growl than my last, both my boys and my wife and a few folks at work noticed it. I think it has a bit stiffer suspension than my SL, but I think that is because of the newness, unless someone shows me that an S has SE springs, which I highly doubt.
Nissan saved over 2000 bucks per S type X thousands sold; they saved me about $70 per month on the lease, with no cash out of pocket and minus one month lease. I stepped right into the same color, the same seats (8 way), new color console and chrome interior accents and a factory hitch (which I needed), and a better sound system, for waaaay less than my other MO, and it is NEW--for less money.
I lease CVT's for good reason--ain't gonna buy one.
As my oldest will be in medical school in 3 or so years, the end of lease will be perfect cause I know I won't have much car budget when that happens.
:2: |

That's really cool.
So what is a "better sound system"? The stock non bose?
Homer |
|
|
| mgthe3 |
| yeah Homer, it is the stock oem, not Bose, but is has a much better sound. More full and much more power than my last. |

| I am dying for OEM or OEM looking, white, blue or yellow fog light kit to fit the Altima 2007. I am really striking out. I find "Universal " kit but I am leary about getting thm in. Your sounded great, harness, relay etc. Any Ideas where i can find them. My right arm is prety muvh gone so I have to have an easy to install kit. |

Same guy--same kit, but yellow.
Does the 07 Altima have the same fogs as the 04?
I am uncertain. He showed that it was good for 05
Muranos and it is good for 07 as we all know (except the missing trim).
**Edit**
Sorry Don, they are NOT the same.
Drill down in this link to your Altima.
DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME!!
I guess it is to early for Ebay sellers to strike deals on a redesign from 07.
I'm lucky Mo stayed the same.
PS
Your mail box is full.

What is wrong with your arm Don? |

| Right arm 3 torn musles and a spur. Find out Monday when they will fix it (I hope) Occured from a combination of stupid old man activites, tree trimming, etc. Mainly the old man part. Lived with it as long as i can time to get it sewn up. |

Hey guys, Sorry to bump a thread over a month old... but i had a question about the fog light install. I have a 07 Murano S and as far as the switch that comes with the OEM ebay kit specified in previous posts, Am I correct in assuming it is a direct fit into our dash? All the kits specify 03-05 muranos but very few list 03+ or even 03-07. I'm not really sure if the models have changed much since im new to the Murano. Your thread has been a great help but just wanted to get these few things straight before I make the purchase. I would rather have the look of a factory switch over hooking them up to the parking lights or even adding a switch of my own. Thanks in advance!!!!
BTW Tried to do this in a PM but mgthe3 your mail box is full.

bling2bling13-
yournissanparts.com sells the fog light stalk for $49.99 and claims it is for all models. The Nissan part number is 25540-CB61A.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the fast responce!!!! OK so I take it the stalk is a necessity in order to gain the facotry look. The switch provided in other auctions (shown below) looks like it would just push into a dummy spot somewhere on the dash. I say somewhere because I haven't really taken the time to look and see if there is a location or not. Looks like I may just go the route of hooking them up to the parking lights.
Don't pay any mind to the contents or the package shown below I just quickly grabbed a pic that contained the switch I was refering to.

Did you end up changing these out to the chrome ones?
Did you purchase any OEM parts like the Fog Light Switch/Auto Switch for the stalk, etc?
If no OEM parts were purchased where did you mount the on/off switch, etc?
Do you have any pics of the front of your Mo with the lights of and off?
Thanks again for the post. This will help me greatly when I do the Fogs on my Mo in the spring. |

Did you end up changing these out to the chrome ones?
No, not yet -- life has been kinda busy lately.
Did you purchase any OEM parts like the Fog Light Switch/Auto Switch for the stalk, etc?
Nope again, I wired it directly to my headlights to switch the relay.
If no OEM parts were purchased where did you mount the on/off switch, etc?
See above answer. All parts were OEM, just the switch looks as if it might belong to an Altima. [an Altima owner may have to answer that] Bob?
Do you have any pics of the front of your Mo with the lights of and off?
I will post some later.
Thanks again for the post. This will help me greatly when I do the Fogs on my Mo in the spring.
Cool, that is why I did it. $1800 from the dealer compared to $65 DIY is quite a sweet deal. |

My question is and without breaking the bank...is it possible to connect the EBAY fogs to the OEM fog light stock and optical sensor
for auto headlamp similar to the SL/SE Model?
If so, I will go this route
Anyone? |

Thanks for the write up. I bought my kit off Ebay as well and installed them perfectly. Took about 2.5 hours.
I also installed 6000K HID's on them and have them running as my DRL (Canadian Murano's have fogs running as DRL) Looks real nice to match up with my OEM Projector DIY |

| Hi, I was reading your thread about your foglight install. I bought the same kit and Im having some questions. I have the wiring ran to the foglights and I have the fog lights installed. I just dont have any of the power or ground wires hooked up. I was wondering what the red and white wire are for with the connectors on them? Is the red the connected directly to the battery and the white the remote turn on? Any help would be appreciated, thanks |
|
|
| mgthe3 |
shot ya an email, sorry for the delay
the red and white wires should be part of the lamp harness.
The yellow and white harness should be the relay harness.
Yellow goes to a switched source, white goes to battery +. All grounds go to battery --. |

The halo's look like they may fit, the others will require modification of your bumper cover.
Try these
The problem is, only one comes with a harness and it is a bit expensive. (over $100) I got mine with a harness for less than $50. |

| thanks. it makes no difference that mine is a 06 and these that are listed are 03-05 does it? |
|
|
| mgthe3 |
You may notice that 06 and 07 have trim rings around their fogs whereas 03-05's didn't.
They will fit, but, you will have to either fashion a trim ring (in this thread) from the blanks or buy them.
The plastic boss the light is bolted to is there and identicle to the 03-05's, but, there are four holes in the bumper cover for the trim ring to snap into, which the 03-05 did not have. |

I am trying to find oem fog lights for a 2007 S Murano but it seems that all of the one online are for 03-05 , etc. Will these type lights fit into my 2007?
Also where is a good place to buy the chrome side trim for my S? |
|

03 to 07 are the same.
The lower door trim? I got mine off ebay, but I don't see it right away. Still looks perfect 9 months after I put it on. |
