I know there is a procedure to flush PS fluid and there is also a method though not as efficient. You can syphon the reservoir and drive a bit and do it again and a few more times after that.
I have a hand pump and I'm going to do the latter and I have a question on fluid.
The book of course recommends Nissan Genuine PS fluid as you would expect. It also says " OR EQUIVELENT ".
I picked up a bottle of Prestone PS fluid and there does not seem to be much info. It's not like brake fluid with the DOT #3 and all that.
I did see at the store a special fluid for Honda/Acura and the rest seems generic.
Anyone know if PS fluid is PS fluid and no special designations?
Would the Prestone PS fluid be OK? I think so but just asking.
