Chrome Delete (Carbon)

I'm not a fan of all the chrome on the 3rd gen Murano. Phase 1 of Chrome Delete on 2017 Plat. (Front bumper trim and lower door trim.) Phase 2 is the rear bumper and front grille. Eventually, final phase is chrome around exterior windows, 'want to see what it looks like to have all chrome deleted and leave the window trim.'

Used: VViViD Black True R Carbon Fiber.

looks great! Maybe small DIY? Did you remove those pieces? I was thinking to plasti dip, but if they are removable I would like to wrap them instead!

All of the pieces are removable, however, the door pieces are the only ones without screws. Just slowly insert a trim removal tool in the center most part and drag it right and left and you will hear the plastic clips release. I am sorry I forgot how many there are. The front bumper pieces have 2 screws each side (one closest to the wheel well and the other in the inner most part/corner. The inner one is the hardest to get to. I started by pulling back the wheel well liner and removing the closest screw and then used a trim removal tool to pop the other one out. When I put it back, I simply unscrewed the screw a little and then pushed it back in the hole so I did not have to actually screw it in.

It would be easier to remove the entire front bumper but I didn't want to get into that. I have not done the rear bumper yet, as there are so many screws holding all of those pieces in. I already tried and broke part of one chrome piece. I am thinking I will try to wrap it on the car. I chose to remove the other parts so I could wrap around the pieces instead of on top of them.

Hope this makes sense, it is early and I have not had my coffee. Please message me if you have issues and I will do a better DYI.

Any time fake chrome is removed, it's an improvement.

frasierts, Do you have any full body pictures; specifically side profile? I was thinking of doing something similar except in a flat black or black chrome.

I don't, I will try to get one when the weather in Texas start cooperating and I can clean the car. I had tried the door pieces in gloss black first and it looked great. My mistake was I simply did an overlay instead of taking the pieces off and wrapping around. So it ultimately ended up peeling and I had carbon left so that is why I did carbon. Plus Carbon went with the color of my car.

I have the arctic blue w/ black interior, would love to do this to the exterior, reg black vs carbon. What type of wrap did you do? How did you get the grill done and did you also blackout the chrome rear emblems? Thx

Hmm. I dont mind the chrome, but that does look pretty good in black/carbon.

I gotta say, though, Ive never been a fan of the V motion grille. Blacked out, that would probably look pretty sweet.
