Release Brake Engine Shakes

I'm not well versed in car mechanics so forgive me if I'm using the wrong terms here.

I'm trying to see if anyone else has experienced the issue and it's if a normal characteristic.

When stopped at a light. On a few rare occasions I've noticed the car shake lightly when I release the brake partially and move up in traffic.

I find when I release the brake fully and move up it doesn't do it. But when I partially let up the brake, it shakes. Almost seems like the torque converter is confused and doesn't know if it should lock up or release. The shake is minor but definitely noticeable when you're the driver as it feels like a hesitation.

Anyone have an idea if this is normal or something wrong? Doesn't do it all the time. No check engine light.

Thanks

Check your manual page 5-72

Hill Start Assist, it holds the brakes on a incline.
Might be what itís doing, has to be 10 degree incline or more for it to work.

Thanks for the reply. I may not have explained my situation well.

On a flat road when stopped at a red light with the brake pressed down I have no shaking.

Then as I inch up slowly to the car in front of my the car shakes slightly but only when I am still lightly on the brakes. Feels as if the torque converter is unlocking and locking and unlocking. Very light. Almost like a wobble like driving over a wavy road.

Then if I release the brake fully it stops.

It might be transmission issue.
I had the same shaking , but mine was when it shifted from first to second going around 20 mile per hour.
I tried to ignore it until the car just died on me, had to replace the whole transmission.

Some members of the forum experience a vibration felt through the steering wheel and the shifter while stopped but in drive. Dealers have adjusted the idle upward to smooth out the vibrations whit limited success. Not sure if this would be a possible solution to your problem

Thanks for the response. I do have the vibration in the steering wheel and shifter. Some days more than others. That's a separate issue.

This new issue is when I release the brake and coast forward. It's like a hesitation from the engine. I'll have to bring it into Nissan. Only issue is that it doesn't do it often. So they won't fix it because they won't feel it. And if they do feel it then they'll think they fixed it the next time they drive it.... even if they didn't.
