Angry Rebuilding CVT

Here we go.

Finally drove our MO to the dealer and got a call back, that they will be rebuilding the transmission (we're 2015 at 49k).

I noticed the problem a while back, but didn't pay too much attention to it.

Jerking / "Gasping" at low RPMs and 15-30mph all the way to 70mph+
The best way to describe it is as if you're driving in a 3rd gear instead of the 1st.

I've seen random posts online about this issue, but nothing "organized".

Also, super "excited" that we've made it by the skin of our teeth for the warranty coverage.

Just wanted to share...

Same happened to me on a brand new car, same symptoms

Mine just stalled in the middle of the road at around 2000 miles.
They put in a new transmission.

Getting a new transmission is good luck - you benefit in two ways:

1) You got in while the warranty was in effect.
2) Chances of a second transmission failing are minuscule.

You should be good for a long time.

Apparently they don’t put in a brand new transmission. Instead they replace some parts and only keep the “shell”, according to the dealer.

The warranty won’t be extended either.

True!
Rebuilding a CVT transmission is another story.
They will likely replace it and that needs nissan's approval.
