Headlight replacement through warranty.

Hi guys, long time lurker here, finally decided to join today. Having owned many Nissan vehicles over the years and now a proud owner of a 2017.5 Murano SV.

I recently noticed a small defect on my driver's side headlight which luckly got replaced under warranty yesterday, however I just noticed that my fog light on the same side stopped working. Is the fog light in anyway connected to the headlight? Is there something I can do myself to fix this or should I go back to the dealership that changed the headlight? It's weird that this happened right after the replacement, please advise.

The fog light will not come on without the headlight on.

1st I would make sure that the cable is all the way plug in inside the fog light housing, you will need to access it from the wheel well. Make sure the cable is not broken.
If you have a multimeter, you can skip #2 , and measure the voltage on the plug (+12V)

2- Swap the bulb on the working on with the one not working, this will tell you if it is the bulb.

If still not working take it back to the dealer.

Front fascia (Bumper) needs to be removed to replace headlight, ie fog lights need to be unplugged.

My bet is the dealer mechanic forgot to plug it back in, or not correctly.

Have a good day.

Yes, I tested the fog lights by turning on the the headlights, and the right one works fine. I'm guessing they didn't plug in the fog light snug. I'm gonna take it back to the dealership and let them fix it, as it's only been a day since the headlight changed, and it's under warranty as it only has 30000km. Thanks for the prompt reply guys.

Also, I always keep the fog lights on regardless if there is fog or not, so they always run when the headlights turn on as I have them set to auto. Having the fog lights on makes the Murano look cool.

Ok, just got back from the dealer and they fixed the problem, the service advisor said the plug hadn't clicked in. Got home and took a closer look with my camera flash from the top, seems like there's a piece of tape on top of the connection, I hope they didn't break the connector and just bandaid it with the tape. Also noticed some indentations on the bumper very close to the bottom edge of the new headlight they installed, I wonder if they even take the bumper and facia even off, instead just take a couple of clips off and swap the new headlight by bending the bumper/ facia out of the way.
