Found this cool feature out by reading the forums

If I didn't read the forum posting from a long time ago I would of never found this cool feature. If you unlock the car and then hold down the unlock key the 2 front windows will go down half way. Is there any other cool things like this out there? I tried to get into the secret diagnostic program on the radio but I couldn't get it to work. Is there a way to get engine codes or anything like that with out using an external reader?

This neat little feature actually has worked on ever car that I've owned, with electric windows lol. It makes me laugh when people just find out about this. my 1998 Lexus GS400 has this feature. Its very convenient, and the way it works is hold the unlock button down, the longer you hold it the more the windows go down. mine will go down 1/4, 1/2 all the way and im surprised the rear windows don't open as well. Some cars even will open the moon/sunroof. My Murano doesn't have a moonroof so I haven't tested that.

Also there's a YouTube video on how to make your car beep or not when u lock and unlock doors its a simple step with ur smart key u can do.

The Murano wont do it, but my Altima would let me roll the windows back up too. That was pretty sweet.

That explains why my front windows were down yesterday. I couldn't believe I had forgotten to roll them up the night before. Thanks, now I've really got to read more of the manual.

This feature is always on Murano since the 1st generation, and it's a feature on many cars nowadays. I also wish the lock button could close the window.

And the really cool part is that when traveling south for the winter and almost everything we need for the winter to include important papers and a weapon in the car I came out from a restaurant to open windows. I think I probable pushed the button with the bottom of the table or the chair. Not impressed.

There's a number places where you cannot carry your weapon so I really question Nissan's liability if a weapon was taken and used from this cool feature. I wrote them a letter that went unswered.

IDk if this feature can be turned off but i would look into it if i was you. Also be a little more careful with the keys in your pocket because honestly my murano wont do it unless i triple click the unlock button and hold it the longer i hold it the more the windows open.

Then you need a gunsafe in the car attached by wire to the seat pillar.

It is the owner's responsibility to secure firearms so they are not misused. I would not expect Nissan to respond to such a letter other than with a company attorney's statement. I doubt that an individual inquiry was significant enough to prompt that action.

Let's focus on the window function, not this side issue.
