Exclamation My Sunroof Blew Out!!!

One monday night I was driving down the interstate in San Antonio at 70 MPH with all 4 windows down and my sun roof CLOSED then all of a sudden BANG and i pulled back the cover and it was full of glass! the glass was formed upward and it was about the size of a basketball!
My insurance was amazing though. they overnighted a new one from TN then had it put in at the dealership for only my deductable. can you believe that?!

has anyone ever heard of this happening with the pressure or anything?

No, it did not happen to me.
But I am not surprised. I never drive with windows down because of buffeting. I cannot stand the noise and the changes of pressure are just too great. This must have affected the sun roof.

Interesting to hear stories like this though.....

Mikeyusa-

That is most odd. I have never heard of that happening in any car.

The glass obviously had a defect in it.

Too bad you did not take a picture.
