My wheel locks came with my Mo....never gave them much thought except when it was swapping out or rotating tires, then it was this is a pain in butt! Now, having had one break - fortunately at home - and knowing how easy they are to defeat, I am glad that I am back to 5 standard lug nuts.

Wheel locks on everything with alloy wheels for me, period. Keeps the honest people honest, which is all you can ever achieve. You don't stop the pros anyway.

Never had one break in 40 years of using them. If one breaks, fine, I'll replace it and move on.

When winter tires became mandatory here in 2008, many were stolen even when mounted on ugly black steelies! The novelty has worn off so perhaps it's not that necessary anymore. When we have heavy snow storms and long winters, snow blowers get stolen because people don't lock them up. We have a saying in French "L'occasion fait le larron" meaning something like "Opportunity makes a thief" (there's no direct translation that I know of).

I've been parking safely in a garage for the past 5 years at my condo but when my car was parked outside at my previous houses, I was always afraid to wake up with the car resting on 4 cement blocks and the wheels gone...That's why I had locks and I left the outdoor light near the street on all night. Not that I lived in a bad suburb, I just believe in "better be safe than sorry" and it has served me well in various domains. To each their own I guess, call me chicken if you want but at my age, I won't change!

I stripped mine doing a tire change last month (no power tools - just tightening by hand). The metal seems really soft... especially at -25C to -30C.

I had to take the Murano to the dealer to replace them with a new set.

I have owned 12 vehicles & never used wheel locks. If I owned a Lambo, maybe? But really folks? Rims & tires off a Murano? LOL! Besides, I live in Calgary, AB. No crime here!
