Turn on functions like the Trip Computer and DRL's

Hi great to see such an active model specific forum.

Recently purchased a 2 owner 55 plate Murano which is a pretty awesome vehicle but there doesn't seem to be a trip computer on it?

I have the Bose 6 cd changer and the sat nav with the controls in front of the screen with an information button but this doesn't detail very much and after reading many threads it seems to be that this is where the mpg and distance to empty functions etc usually reside.

So my question is: has anyone managed to connect a laptop to the OBD connector and turn these functions on? if so what software was used? or would this upgrade need extra hardware to make it work?

Secondly, I have read many threads on using the fog lights as DRL's but the Canadian Murano has this function already built in to the main light units, is there a way to utilise this or is the fog light route or after market ebay units the only way to go. I've added a pic of my Murano and also one i found with the DRL's lit on a Canadian model

Thanks in advance
Rob

To change any settings (DRL or other stuff) on a Murano you will need to use Consult-II or Consult-III software which is only available to the dealers (as far as I know).
