Isolated issue with engine starting...
I made a trip to the store today and ran inside for only a few minutes. After going back into my car and trying to start it, it would crank but not turn over on the first attempt. I turned the key again and the engine started without any issues. This has not happened again since....BUT I decide to fill up the car with premium, in case it was gas related.
Now, I am hoping it's not fuel pump related. Has anyone been able to diagnose a fuel pump prior to it possibly going out?...or do they usually give no warnin signs.
Alternator and battery are new..
Plugs have been replaced with factory NGKs two years ago. (Coils are original).
Sounds like a problem I had before I replaced my cam sensors. Sometimes after stopping for gas, or similar, it would crank, but not fire for a very long time, maybe 20 to 30 seconds of grinding on the starter. When started, it was not too bad.
So far, I would still call it isolated. I have been paying close attention and no additional issues since. All sensors are still original and the car does have 236K on it, so....
