Difference between 2003 and 2007 models?

Hello everyone.

Could someone please tell me whats the difference between 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007 models? There wasn't anything i could find online. and by looking at vids on youtube, looks like they all look the same.

Ive bought one before. It's supposed to be 2007, i had issues with Door handle open request button to work with the Key fob and while i was searching i found out that my car mostly looks like a 2004 and not a 2007! Mostly because of the Monitor it has inside. My monitor is orange but i see 2007 models are color and can show camera screen too.

So in addition to my first question about difference between models. i have another question that how can i find out what model is my car? I can not trust the Documents i have.

I appreciate your help.

Thank you very much

Check the VIN number with a dealer or see if there's an online site where you can check it. that's the best source.

2004 looks identical to a 2007. All the base model had the orange screen. Colour screen with back up camera was an option.

There are web sites that can do a VIN look up for you. You enter the VIN, it will tell you the year plus other details about your particular vehicle.

On the dash, driver side. A small metal plate with the VIN engraved on it.

See the diagram on this thread:

There was no 2008-specific model. The first series of Muranos went through 2007, and the second series began in 2009. However, I believe they maintained production on the 2007 model unchanged for 2008; it's kind of an anomaly. But at least you know it's not a 2004.

If anyone knows the fine points of the 2008 production better, please comment. I don't know a lot about it other than the one year gap between 1st and 2nd series.

I have a question. WHat sthe difference between S, SL and SE. im not sure which one is mine. That site that checks VIN says SE. but then my car has no fog light or color monitor. but it has manual shifting and seat memory.

How can i know for sure? Thanks

Are you in the US or another country? This is one reason that I ask people to PLEASE provide more info in their profile.

In other countries, the model designations are different. If you read some threads in the First Series forum, you will get some info. I don't know the specifics, but the differences between models are discussed in various threads.

Here are a few sites that showed up when I Goggled "2003 2007 murano differences"

You'll probably need to see if you can find something more specific to your country though...

The car itself isn't "fake", it's evidently a Murano. The VIN number is the best information you can get.

We still don't know where you are, or any detail about how you got the car. I suggest you check with the car licensing agency in your area and ask questions there. I find myself wondering if it's a stolen car with a changed VIN plate on the dashboard.
