Sun glare over navigation display

1. During mid-day, the sun glare makes info display hard to see.
I found some aftermarket 8" plastic shade that goes over the LCD display area that will probably do the job.
Has anyone found a better way to block the sun glare?

2. My navigation is pretty useless, and the map is really old.
It's got me driving on blank area. (LOL)
My iPhone gives me up to navigation so this is not a huge issue,
but nevertheless, if there a (cheap) way to update the navigation map?

Thanks

I measured, and it appears 8" will be perfect length, and I found and ordered this.

Interesting, let us know how it works. I kinda like the looks of it.

I improvised for the timing being by cutting the small USPS shipping box to the similar shape as the shade I ordered and tied it to the vents using plastic ties.
This shade has definitely reduced the glare and made the screen more visible...though still not totally bright and perfect.

The piece I ordered fits perfectly just over the display area.
It has 2 sided sticky tape so it's really quick to mount it.

It almost looks like it was original part that came with the car,
and it blocks out quite a bit of glare (though not completely).

For less than $10, it was really worth it.

I ordered mine from China, so I had to wait about 3 weeks,
but I see some US sellers with quicker delivery for few bucks more.

BTW, I see that on new model Murano, they have this shade not covering over the display.

If you are going to install this, just make sure to clean the area with alcohol thoroughly.
Also, be careful putting on and taking off sunshad to not accidentally knock it off...though it's on there pretty solid.
