  1. What is this and why is it leaking?

OP here, this turned out to be residual oil leaking out of the crevices in the underbody from when the transmission was replaced. Since the original pics disappeared (good reminder not to host them externally), here they are for comparison. You can see where oil was leaking from the hole above...
  2. Replacing Xenon headlights

    1st Gen (2003-2007)
Ha, you're welcome! I'm not in it for the hugs, but i appreciate the gesture! :29:

Title says it all. I've tried using Chrome / Firefox / IE, restarting computer, updating Flash, hopping on one foot while whistling... Nada. Admin?
  4. Newly Released: Philips D2S X-tremeVision +50% Xenon Bulb

Not correct, at least according to lighting experts. I know you meant well, but data-supported assertions by experts trumps unsubstantiated opinions.
  5. Newly Released: Philips D2S X-tremeVision +50% Xenon Bulb

PowerBulbs has the 85122's for ~$163/bulb with free worldwide shipping. When it's time to replace my bulbs, these are the ones I'll get.
  6. Replacing Xenon headlights

    1st Gen (2003-2007)
Yeah, they're expensive. For maximum headlight intensity as well as aesthetics (headlight color will not match if you mix an old and new bulb), I'd suggest replacing BOTH bulbs. It's not terribly hard to do yourself either. As I mentioned in another thread, here is a good price ($67/pair)...
  7. Conversion from Bi-Xenon to Halogen

    2nd Gen (2009 - 2014)
You're not following. He was looking for a way to use his xenon headlights while remaining ECE compliant. He said he preferred not to downgrade to halogen, which is the reason I asked whether or not Nissan sold Muranos in Europe. If they don't sell Muranos in Europe, then his only option is to...
  8. Replace headlights assembly

    2nd Gen (2009 - 2014)
I don't recall any members having done this swap. You may have issues activating the high beams. I know converting from OE halogen to OE dual-xenon headlight assemblies requires soldering a trigger wire to some circuit board to get the high beams to activate properly.
  9. Conversion from Bi-Xenon to Halogen

    2nd Gen (2009 - 2014)
It's unfortunate you have to downgrade your headlights. They don't sell the Murano anywhere in the EU? That truly surprises me.
  10. Brighter headlights ?

    2nd Gen (2009 - 2014)
    Among the three makers/six brands (Sylvania/Osram, Philips/Narva or GE/Tungsram) expected lifespans are: Standard H11: 1000 hrs (B3), 2000 hrs (Tc) H11 Night Breaker, the best-performing H11 on the market: 100 hrs (B3), 180 hrs (Tc) H9: 250 hrs (B3), 500 hrs (Tc) B3 = the point at which 3% of...
  11. Conversion from Bi-Xenon to Halogen

    2nd Gen (2009 - 2014)
No, don't do that. An HID bulb emits light in a totally different way than a halogen burner. An HID bulb has a crescent-shaped light source -- the arc. The ENDS of the arc crescent are the brightest points. A halogen bulb, on the other hand, has a cylindrical light source; the CENTER of the...
  12. Brighter headlights ?

    2nd Gen (2009 - 2014)
Yes, luminous flux (brightness) affects the bulb's expected lifespan. In general, the brighter it is, the shorter the expected lifespan, and vice versa. I agree, if by better you mean brighter, more focused headlights, then H9's are better than ALL (i.e., the entire range of) H11's. But if...
  13. Brighter headlights ?

    2nd Gen (2009 - 2014)
Yes. Each bulb type has an acceptable luminous output range of ±15% (Long-Life bulbs, blue-tinted bulbs, etc. land near the minimum output, Mega-Efficacy bulbs land at the maximum). But since you have a 2nd Gen Murano (right?), you can instead swap out each H11 bulb with an H9 bulb for a huge...
  14. Philips LED Daylight 8 DRL - Help Install

    Well done! :29:
  15. Replace OE Fog Lights with a Fog/DRL/Turning-Assist combo

These would be great for 1st Gen MO's! Replace the round OE fogs with the universally-fitting Osram LEDriving Fog kit. Osram designed these to fit in most round fog light openings and attach using the OE mounting points (see attached images). Best of all, they're not just fog lights. They...
