Had two codes pull up on scanner P1800 and P0430. Car started idling bad one day then went away along with the check engine light. Went to go start the car the next day and the battery was dead, jump it and ran good for another week. Was driving the other day and came to a stop light and car lost all acceleration power drive. Put it it neutral and rev the engine over 3,000 rpms and will go back to driving. Cant quit put my thumb on it. Any help?

Probable culprit: weak battery.

Step one: with the car running, do a voltage check with a multimeter.
. You need around 14.4 with the car running. If not, you may have an alternator problem that's probably the issue.

But testing with a marginally charged battery doesn't always tell you the right story.

Step two: before you change the battery, charge the battery to full. With these cars, everything starts with a good battery. Don't have a good charger? Get one, you need it regardless.

Step two: once the battery is at full charge, check voltage again. If it's over 14 volts, drive it and see how it feels. The problem may be solved.

If it's under 14V running? Alternator problem.

Try these steps and report back.
