I can't believe you have to advertise these hot cars on this forum? You'd think you would have to beat off all the Iowa buyers!! It makes me wonder if they are really that good. I still haven't heard of any buyers yet!

Good luck and if you want to sell it on this forum you better give a better sales pitch and offer it for a competitive price, like it's peer competitors Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander, not Lexus or Acura. For my money, it sounds like it's list is way out of line when you add the extras everyone normally gets.

Have you sold your "hot" cars yet? What's the price? If not maybe you need to convince someone why they should drive to Iowa to buy a car that's supposed to be available everywhere this week. In other words a classified ad should offer some special reason to deal with you. Have you sold any yet? What are the things people like/dislike about the Murano and your dealership?

I guess I thought it would be overkill to write a two page sales pitch on this website. If There were any interested parties out there or here in Iowa that wanted additional information on either of these vehicals that we have than of course I'd be more than happy to go into great detail about the vehicals and about our dealership. These are the first two Muranos to arrive at our dealership and there have been several test drives with nothing but good responses. Nobody, including mysesf has found anything negative about this vehical. Not to say that someone won't come across something they don't like as there is no such thing as a perfect vehical for everybody. Being one of the internet sales specialists here I don't feel I'd be doing my job properly if I did'nt use an avenue such as this to at least let people know that these vehicals are out there, not in huge quantities, but that they are here and I felt that the classified section in this forum would be a wonderful spot to do so. It seems however that I might have been mistaken, would'nt be the first time.

Not so Hot Cars

I'm still trying to understand why I should buy from you? KC dealers have them and I understand Nissan plans on producing 33,000 for this abreviated model year. Compared to ~60,000 for the Maxima, it should be a pretty common SUV, and offered at a competitive price with it's peers. I drove one today and $35K MRSP is too much for this untested vehicle. The dealer will likely deal to make it right, so anyone paying MSRP or more is crazy. Wait a week or so and other dealers will be loading up this site with "real deals". Just letting us know there are 2 at this Iowa dealership doesn't seem like the best way to sell these. You'd expect them to be sold in less than a week if they were really hot cars!

Now I'd like to hear from someone who has actually purchased one of these hot cars? I think everyone is waiting for someone else to test the water. You really can't tell how good the car is until you've spent some time driving one through a normal day-to-day routine.

The simple solution is to sell me one at $50 over invoice and I can give a detailed review on a routine basis. My review should be valuable info for everyone on this forum, and your dealership. I can even drive up there to pick it up, if you have the right package and color.

Whatcha think?

If you live in or around the kansas city area and they have the vehical your looking for then of course I would'nt expect you to drive all the way to Iowa. There are many people from Iowa that I would suspect will be visiting this web site that I'm sure would be happy to know that there are dealerships other than their own that have these vehicals in stock for cross shopping puposes other than just taking one localy because it was the only color that the dealership had at the time as there are always buyers out there that want to be the first person on their block to have one. Because of this I'm sure that as the market grows so will the discounts as is with any vehical.

Maxima4, I think you're being overly harsh

Hey Maxima4, I think you're being overly harsh on cdunne. Down here in Texas, I can't find dealers with more than one Murano in stock and that's the one they're using for test drives. Not like I'm going to *want* that one! Anyway, the point is that I'm interested in hearing where dealers have them in stock.

My preferred salesman (Jeff David) at my preferred dealer (Southpoint Nissan) tells me that corporate Nissan can't give them information on when more vehicles will arrive. They were expecting 7 on 12/5, but evidently there is some hold up in delivery - either manufacturing, shipping (dock strike in CA?), or *real* high demand elsewhere.

Anyone know?

KC Dealers

I've driven 2 at one dealer so far since last week and at least one other dealer has one in their showrom. More are coming in every week, but the schedule is not very precise. Only a couple of dealers advertised them in Saturday's paper last week, but all other media is mysteriously silent. Ho Hum. I wonder if cdunne got any bites on his overpriced Muranos.

Went to another local dealer last night, who had just taken delivery of 7 Muranos on Friday. By the time I'd gotten there, they had already sold 3 (none were pre-ordered or so they said.) Got to drive an SE AWD but it wasn't configured as I desired (no nav).

I agree with you that more are coming in everyday and the schedule is not precise. Though the dealer I was at last night got an updated schedule on Friday that lists their allocation through February. Sounds like dealers are getting more information as we speak.

One interesting thing I was told last night. Nissan plans an advertising blitz in January for the Murano. They're trying to fill the channel prior to that so hopefully deliveries will really pick up now.

My overpriced Muranos? Give me a break already maxima4. Do you think that I called into Nissan and told them how to price these or do you think that the prices given are written in stone? Reply back when you get yours for the $50.00 over invoice like you had talked about, until then stop giving me a hard time for doing my job.

Maxima4, maybe you should sit back a read your postings with a clear head.

First of all, if you don't like the Murano, why do you continue to slum on this website? If the vehicle is "overpriced" and "untested" then why are you still here? Why on earth are you taking multiple test drives in a vehicle you don't like? Why would you want to buy a vehicle for $50 over invoice if you don't like it?

Second of all, who are you to question cdunne's ability or method of advertising? Why does it matter to you the method he uses? If you don't plan on buying a Murano or purchasing one from a dealer in Iowa, then don't. It's pathetic that you have to attack cdunne for him advertising vehicles he has on his lot. In addition, why are you still wondering if he has any "bites on his overpriced Muranos"?, move on.

Third, how can you say you have yet to see that anyone has purchased the vehicle? You do read other areas of the forum, don't you? There are plenty of new owners posting regularly.

Finally, this forum was free from the negative, ignorant responses and attacks seen on many forums, so congrats! on being the first to post such replies on this one.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Maxima4 already said goodbye to the forum in November after purchasing a Lexus RX300. Maybe he likes this forum so much, he just hasn't been able to tear himself away yet.
