Hi all first time on a forum, i have a 2008 3.5 litre Murano full spec. about 14 months ago it began going into limp mode and surging when accelerating.
after multiple investigations and a couple of thousand dollars later i was told the transmission needed to be replaced at a coast of $6.500 dollars, second hand Pfft.
I took it back to Nissan who re calibrated the drive shaft sensor which had been replaced a month ago. I don't think think this had anything to do with the problem.
They then decided to check the air intake and clean the throttle body and while doing this they found a split in the hose that looks like an accordion, sorry not mechanically minded.
Any way that was replaced and problem fixed, the car goes like a rocket. I hope this helps anyone with the same issue and could save thousands.

Yep, a hole in the engine air intake duct is a common problem, there are many reports in this forum.

Glad it solved your problem!

I wonder how many CVTs have been replaced over the years due to a faulty diagnosis...
