Went for oil change at 100k miles and tech said new plugs are recommended at 105k.
said cost is around $800! Said because 6 cylinder and also includes some other work? I forget exactly but some type of fluiid?

i plan on getting a new car in a few months so not planning to dish out unless necessary. Have people gotten lower price from their dealer or an accredited shop?

Believe it or not, that's a fairly good price for spark plug replacement on the Murano V6. Massive amounts of work to get at the three back spark plugs.

I've seen it as high as $1,200.

Have a good day.
Below is the range that Repairpal.com came up with for NYC so that estimate you received is not out of the ordinary. It's actually not that bad of a job, but definitely a lot more work than a plug job on an inline engine. Frankly, if you're ditching the car in a few months then don't bother. The replacement interval is 105k, but you can go longer than that.

It's hard to maintain old cars if you can't do the work yourself. Replacing anything that is time consuming costs so much to have a professional mechanic do. Swapping a hundred dollar exhaust manifold costs $800. $150 timing belt water pump kit on my sequoia quoted at over $1000. $250 rack and pinion replacement I forget quote but was nuts. Almost every job is worth more than the car when they're at the bottom of their valuation range. And that's for the repairs that are mostly labor with small contributions from parts. I can't imagine what's going to happen when all the new cars with turbos and super infotainment systems need repairs in the future. Then you have big parts bills to go with the big labor bills.

Thanks

they also reported the following as needed.
Control Arm - Front: driver front bushing torn $818
Drive Belt: stretched and glazed $200

does anyone know if these reported issues are logged in carfax or some other public database?
was wondering if I do trade in the car before the repairs are made, will the buying dealer or carmax be able to
know about them without an extensive inspection of their own (not a Nissan dealer if that matters) and knock down their offer based on the report?
I have no specific knowledge of how all that works but I highly doubt it. There would be so much noise (quotes for service upsells) in such a system that it would be difficult to see the signal (actual defects repaired).

Control arm bushings can wear out on any car, but that quote seems very high.

Not what a "drive belt" is, but if it takes more than an hour the $200 may be pretty accurate. Depends partly on belt cost.

* Drive Belt: stretched and glazed
The crankshaft drives the flat, multi-ribbed serpentine belt to power engine accessories such as the alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump, and sometimes the water pump. The serpentine belt is a modern, more efficient replacement for the earlier "V" belt design. The name serpentine describes the path of the flexible belt; it goes over and around multiple pulleys. This belt has its own tensioner and requires regular inspection and maintenance

Control Arm - Front: driver front bushing torn
The front upper and lower control arms not only provide suspension travel but also secure the front end to the vehicle.
OK. I haven't looked at the belt path for the Murano, but a serpentine belt usually has a tensioning pulley that is easy to release and the rest of the job is simply removing and installing. Another quote on that belt would be a good idea...or do it yourself.
