Hey found this Roof Rack that comes for the Mo. I truthfully would rather have this one than the factory one that I already have, because this one is adjustable. It comes in a Powder Coat Black or a Brite Anodized Finish. Anyone know what Brite Anodized is? if it is like a chrome that would be cool.

here is a second adjustable one for the MO, but I kinda like the first style better. This one has side rails too.

This site actually has a few different Racks for the MO. I like the four seasons one becauseit is adjustable and you can actually remove the bars if you want when not using them. But of course that one does not come for the murano.

It must be a Canadian thing again because our OEM crossbars here are fully adjustables and are labeled "Nissan". They are made by SportRack for Nissan.

My shower door frame is "brite anodized". It's a shiny aluminum as opposed to a matte.

Cool...I would get this one but I already have the factory rack on mine. I wonder if I removed it if the holes would show or if I ths one is designed to go into the same holes that would be great.

Those are pretty pricey! 500 for a set?

Sim, I've never seen those made by Nissan. Even though I see the Nissan label I'm suspicious that they are OEM racks. I dod like them adjustable. Have you seen the non-adjustable ones from Nissan? Took them forever to finally get them out to the market.

Nissan does not make much. They mostly assemble parts that others made for them. OEM simply means that they ordered the part from a manufacturer with their own specs and asked that their logo or name be put on it.

As far as these crossbars are concerned, the logo is not a sticker but rather is engraved on the bars. They are fully adjustable and fit perfectly well. They were sold to me by my Nissan dealer and they are in their catalog. What I learned later from a roof rack specialist is that they are made by SportRack for Nissan.

Oh I see so they are not OEM racks but after market one. Now is make sense. I thought Nissan only "made" one rack for the MO. I know there are many other choices from other vendors/providers. Thanks.

Yes, but none of them has the Nissan name on them. This set of crossbars of mine is as OEM as the Nissan pet divider, the Nissan bumper protector and the cargo area liner (with the name Nissan on it) for example.

It is an original Nissan equipment, only that in this case, I know (or strongly suspect) that it was made for them by SportRack because of the rails disposition under the rubber bands. Every item fitting the SportRack roof racks also fit this one and all rack companies have a different rail disposition.

The other set of fixed crossbars from Nissan is also made for them by another manufacturer, but you just don't know which one...

I would say they are "Canadian Nissan" in that they are not available in the states and they weren't developed by Japan.
They were probably developed by Sportrack to Nissan Canada's specs. They look good. Can't comment on thier strength and their wind noise, but they do look good. And they are adjustable.
When I heard that the US version was not adjustable............

Here in the states we have a Testing division.
I believe that a poster by the name of Chancy or Chancie worked at Nissan accessory testing here in the states. She used to post quite a bit, but the testing procedures and efficiencies, compared to a real car company were held up to ridicule several times and I suspect she got tired of being abused. No one here made it personal but still...........
Too bad, as she seemed like a nice person in a bad situation.

I think the non adjustable racks (American Nissan) are a joke.
But at least they have been tested and rated for their capacity and chosen for low wind noise. And yes they are aftermarket made to Nissan specs too.

I've never seen any indication of them ever being available in the US...

Mine had them when I bought it in January 2003, but I didn't want them, so they took them off.

Here's a pic when I went to pick it up, taken from my 2000 Maxima.

Any idea how much the Canadian adjustable cross bars are?
And are they still available, because on the Nissan.ca webpage the crossbars look like the US version.
I would love to have those over the US version, since i can take them off when not needed rather than messing w/ 8 screws.

Anybody got a set that's cluttering up their garage and who would be willing to part with them for little money?
