I NEED HELP!!! My wife was driving along last night and said that she heard a POP and then she could smell a burning smell. She returned home and I inspected the vehicle. EVERYTHING was working and I could not find any blown fuses. The smell was an electrical burn smell.
HERE lies the problem;
When I say everything works I mean EVERYTHING. The only issue is that there is no sound coming from the bose speakers. I took the murano to the local nissan dealership who in turn tore into the dash to find out why no sound is coming from the bose speakers. The service tech said that they had inspected EVERYTHING in the dash related to the head unit and there is no problem with the bose head unit, it is operating correctly. The tech told me that they would need a second day to diagnose the problem, but in their best guess they think that the issue is a bad amp. Prior to leaving the dealership I asked the parts Dept what the cost of a new amp would cost and he told me just under $600.00. As you can imagine I was blown away!
I'm looking for advise. I beleive that I could by 2-3 after market amp's for that cost, but will they work?
Please help
