Has anyone noticed rust on there calipers,I'm planning to paint them,but if I can get them replaced for free that will be O.K. too

Silly question are you sure the weights are rusting? I don't think they can.. perhaps its break dust.

Yea, we had a warm Saturday... so it was me and simple green.... they are back to looking like summer time wheels. :cool:

One thing I love about the SL rims is that they are very easy to clean.

Your OEM calipers will rust. They are bare metal in a relatively hostile environment - water, road salt, etc.

Painting them is fine. Many new sports cars come from the factory with painted calipers. Several forum members have successfully painted their calipers. Just make sure they are cleaned before painting them, and get a good quality hi-temp paint.
