I was cleaning one day and noticed on the right side of the display screen of my 05 (only on non nav models) theres an icon for a cellphone signal and an envelope which probably means message....Does anyone have any knowledge on this and what way its used with a phone?

That is just a place holder. Apparently the sytem has been designed for it but components have not been installed.

The radio is used in a number of Nissan and Infiniti models, and they stuff, or don't stuff in parts, depending on what features they want to add in.

Too bad they cheaped out, but of course, they have to save the toys for the "premium" models and subsequent years, to encourage buyers.

Display has it, but both hardware and software components that make them light up and function are missing.
