After backing up and than shifting into Drive when applied brakes after some distance going forward, I get a clicking noice from the brakes. Any similar experiences for you guys? Can somebody explain? I don't think it is dangerous, but very, very annoying. I don't seem to remember it happening before. I have ~ 16K on the car, and MO is 11 months old.

When I back up and and hit the brakes to stop and shift -- no clicking noise, after I start going forward and at the first application of brakes after starting to go forward -- cliking noise (several clicks -- feels like pads on several wheels engage).

If I start going forward without the reverse, brakes don't click, ever

Mine's done it it's entire life (Since Jan 2003).

It's the pads shifting and hitting the stop in one direction and then the other, when you change direction and brake for the first time.

It's basically the slack between them and the calipers, as they "float" so it's nothing to worry about.
