My 09 CVT works fine. I have never changed the fluid. A recent check shows it’s clean and has a slight oil smell, not burnt. At 95k miles I would like to leave it be. Is that the right decision?

IMO, I would do a drain and fill if you plan on keeping it for a number of years

Ideally, drop the pan, inspect, and clean the internal mesh filter as well.
