As you were told above you need to check THE CLOCK SPRING. That is a specific piece of equipment contained in the steering wheel assembly.

Did you check the web for information as you were asked to do? Please do that.

Also, have the trouble codes read. Report any trouble codes that are observed.

Please do these things before asking again, and do not ask multiple times. We are watching for your new posts.

If it's not the clock spring:
  • Check fuses for the equipment that is not working.
  • Finally, check the battery and make sure it is in good condition and fully charged. These cars are very sensitive to failing batteries.

Francesco1977,

The other members suggested your problem is with the steering wheel clock spring. Nissan uses different terminology--they call it the "spiral cable" in the service manual but if you go to look up the part it's labeled the "Body-Combination Switch". The part lookup code is 25567 but you would need your VIN to find the exact part. Keep in mind that this is for USA models and European models may use different part numbers.

https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts-list/2007-nissan-murano/switch.html?PNC=25567

The part looks the same/similar to this:

I also sugest that you have a technician test your car with an Onboard Diagnostic Tool (OBD tool) and see if there are any error codes present. Those will give you and the technician information which may identify the problem.

OBD 2 (Onboard diagnostic 2, the current version) tools are easily found. I'm not sure you need to read these codes, but all modern cars use them and you will need the tool now or in the future if local mechanics do not have it.

An example from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/FOXWELL-Automotive-Diagnostic-Diagnostics-Scanners/dp/B01N6RKE29/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=obdII+reader&qid=1566344920&s=automotive&smid=A2YWURTSRUAKKQ&sr=1-8

Similar tools under $100 are available. You can search for "OBD2 reader".

francesco1977,

https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-europe/murano/z50/318-vq35de/body_electrical/251/25567

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

francesco1977,

First, Nissan did not make a 2008 Murano (at least not in the USA). Perhaps they did continue manufacturing the 1st generation in Europe? I don't know.

Anyway, I was not able to find the part on any USA sites since you have a European model, but I did find it on this website searching with your car's VIN:

The part number appears to be B5567CC00E, which seems to supersede the other parts listed although the website says it does not guarantee 100% compatibility. I do not know the reputation of the company behind that website so perhaps you can find the part in Italy. I was also able to find that part on eBay.com but again you would be dealing with individual sellers so you need to verify the seller's reputation before buying.

With that being said, the previous suggestions that this part may be the problem are essentially guesses based on your symptoms and you need to diagnose further or take the car to a mechanic who is competent with diagnosing electrical problems. Otherwise, you may spend money on this part and end up not fixing the problem.

Good luck!

that is, here in ITALY WHEN they see my Nissan Murano they seem to see an extraterrestrial, that is, a dealership with Vin gave me a code for the spring clock other dealership always Nissan gave me another code. the original piece then costs a lot I found them on ebay at a much lower price, only I need the exact code. so I'm forced to dismount myself and retrieve code myself. but to find code just open only the plastic piece under and above the upper and lower sides without disassembling the entire airbag and steering wheel or do I have to completely disassemble it completely ???

What you have called a code is a "part number". It is the number which identifies the part.

A code is a number which indicates a problem with the car. Codes are identified by code readers which plug into the car's diagnostic port.

In order to see the clock spring, you may need to remove the steering wheel from the steering column. The spring is normally located between the steering wheel and the column. I recommend that you do not disassemble the spring. The part number is normally on the outside of any part where it can be read.

Before you do this I suggest that you be as confident of the diagnosis as possible. Getting the steering wheel off and finding the spring part number may be very difficult unless you are a good mechanic. I have removed a clock spring in a different car and it was difficult to get it re-installed correctly.

Most parts can be identified at this English language link: https://www.courtesyparts.com/nissan-parts . The part number you get would be a US part number.
