Since it uses a similar engine to that of the Infiniti FX/G/etc is there anyway to have a similar exhaust note?

Sharlin-

The only sure-fire way I am aware of is to trade in the MO for an FX. :D

The next best alternative may be to remove the center muffler and replace it with a straight pipe. Check the threads. Several members have done this and are happy with the results.

You could also invest in a NISMO cat-back exhaust system. Big, big bucks.

apparently the VQ dosn't react well to true dual exhausts, the loss in back pressure makes it loose a substantial amount of low end torque, there are only a handfull of true dual setups on the market for the VQ that offer an increase in all around performance. next week i'm gonna be checking out some muffler shops around town in search of a custom setup (2.5 inch piping, compression bends(apparently mandrel bends won't benefit me significantly))
