My 2017 Platinum never gets hot anymore and seems to cycle allot as well. I had it already replaced once under warranty and still function the same way. I found that the heated seats worked well when the car was new, but I am assuming that over the years the cushion in the seat has deformed a bit and is now preventing the hot air from travelling through the channels inside the foam properly.

My wife's 2015 Murano Platinum heated seats used to work fine, but now when she turns the drivers side on, the light illuminates for about a second and then goes out - and no seat heat. Fuse checks out OK, so assume there is another module or something in-line turning the element off. Could be thermostat, but why would that turn the light off?

I just purchased a 2018 Murano (certified used). It has less than 30k miles. The heated seats do not stay hot. They heat up for 3 minutes , then cool down for 6 minutes. Multiple Nissan dealers are telling me this is normal, but that just does not seem right. That means the heat only runs 1/3 of the time. Can anyone confirm or deny similar function on another Murano? Thanks.

2016 SL … seats are staying heated as long as I want. I am the one turning them off as they are too hot sometimes. Always used the high heating option

I would try two things...

- Remove the switch and inspect to ensure the wire connectors are still connected securely and aren'ttouching against each other or something else, which might "trip" the system and make it turn off.

- Try switching heater switches (assuming they're the same) to at least rule out of the switch as the problem, or to confirm it is the cause.

I also wondered if with the heated elements type there's some priority rotation in the "systems'" processing, so if there's high demand for other things that are of greater importance (such as auto-random safety diagnostics, keeping the CVT running correctly, and performing other routine systems checks to ensure everything's okay) maybe the heated seats wouldn't get priority or consistent/full power while other things would, which might explain the randomness of the heating. I know all the modules process things hyper-fast, but perhaps given the complexity and glut of power-consuming devices and "behind the scenes" electronics that are constantly doing things, maybe it's simply not possible to give everything all the juice it needs all the time. Maybe the system has to be selective about how/where and to what it distributes the power first.

Found this - see attached. A service bulletin for 2015 to 2019 Murano's and 2016 to 2019 Titans, explaining what parts to purchase (a harness and control until) and very good detail on how to make the repairs yourself (2.2hrs by a dealership). I found a Nissan dealership that sells OEM parts at a discount, totaling $344 (Save On OEM Nissan Parts | Balise Nissan Parts).

Just an observation I've made over the last two years with this 2021.. . whether driving or parked idling, as soon as the RPMs go above 2000 for a couple of seconds the seats get very hot. I started noticing that everytime I accelerated fast up a long hill the seat would become very toasty, and concluded that the alternator spinning faster during that time was likely creating a surplus of power that the power-hungry heated seats system was able to take advantage of.

I've driven for miles under 2000 RPMs and could never figure out why the seats weren't even really warm yet. They needed more power.

Try it... works 100% of the time for me.

Hard to believe that many Nissan dealers could be so wrong. I have an '18 Murano SL and those seats stay on at either of the 2 switch positions until I turn them off.
