Hi guys,
After couple of weeks research I was lucky enough to find a simple way of making my steering wheel controls work with my aftermarket Android head unit.
There are 3 white connectors - see pic.
The one in the background is a 16 pin connector and this is where we do the following - from the cable that came with your aftermarket unit:
1. Connect GROUND to Green/Black cable
2. Connect KEY1 to Green/White cable
3. Connect KEY2 to Green or Lime cable
4. Start the car and configure steering wheel controls inside your settings.
Voila, you now have steering wheel controls. I know this works on European models (all gen1).
Enjoy!
