Hello. I am a new member and have been wanting a Murano CrossCabriolet since it came out in 2011. I owned a Murano SL for 10 years and was very happy with it and a big fan of Nissan. It was solid with minimal engine problems but unfortunately was totaled when T-boned by another driver.

I am in the market for a CrossCab and have heard good and bad things - mainly the bad, espeially the top and related mechanical failures. My mechanic told me that tops and its mechanisms have been problematic and insurance companies are "totaling" the car due to the exhorbitant cost of $16k to replace. However, I'd like to get opinions of owners and will assess.

I live in the Mid Atlantic Region and there is one near me for sale. But before I take the time to see it, I would like to get owners advice and opinions. Could owners please tell me about their experience with their CrossCab? Do you recommend purchase and are there specific issues you recommend for me to ask and have checked prior to purchase? I've read on this thread about purchasing warranty plan - which ones DO cover top mechanism and does any cover the top itself?

I have children (tweens) and want to make sure it is safe as well with convertible top. Thank you all in advance!
