I have recently purchased a Murano SL AWD. I love it. My only concern is regarding the keys. My dealer informs me that a replacement Key cost about $80. The Key Fob is another $60. Has anyone found a cheaper way to copy the key, other than going back to the dealer and paying $80?

Also, for past vehicles, I have made a thinner key that I kept in my wallet. This always gave me peace of mind in case my key got lost while I was far from home. Even the valet key is too wide for this.
Is there any way to accomplish this thinner key or does the computer chip in the key make this impossible?

Love the car, Thanks for your help.

Be glad it is not like my VW that I got rid of. They were at least $135 dollars to replace. But I do miss the switchblade style key/keyfob combo as it took up less space in my pocket.
